From the Office
Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-Up

Please remember that students are NEVER to be dropped off straight from the car, for any reason, ever. It is deeply unsafe and creates extra traffic in an already crowded area.

Double parking or stopping in the middle of the street should not happen as well, for the same reasons.

Please do not use our next door neighbors driveway to turn around. It may seem harmless, but it happens several times a day, every day and they have been complaining. Please help us to continue to be on good terms with our neighbors.

Please relay this information to anyone who drops your child off.

Those who violate this rule will be subject to increasingly long and tedious lectures from Mr. Dan.
Earthquake Kit Update

Please remember to turn in your child's Earthquake Kit to the Grove ASAP! There is a box for the kits and a list to check your child's name off.

If you did not get your kit back at the end of last year, it is likely because there were some that were ruined when water got into the barrel. The nametags were not readable so we couldn't even tell whose they were. They were also moldy and super-gross so Mr. Dan had to toss them out. We've since moved the barrels and are taking better precautions this year--ideally this will be the last time returning families have to assemble kits. Thank you!

Parent Village Meeting Minutes

The chair of the PV is Reggie Melrose. She can be reached at regalenamelrose@yahoo.com.

Exciting news! We are going to have a MVWS float in the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade! Thank you, Lee Gumbiner, for being the chair of this new committee.
We are raising funds through a YARD SALE being put on this Saturday at 7:30 a.m. by the Willow Tree class. PLEASE come to our school Saturday morning anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. If you’d like to donate your items, please contact Billie Gentry at 949-413-5199.

Another mechanism we have in place for fundraising is eScrip and ShopwithScrip.com. Please visit the school’s website GIVING tab and simply read the instructions for how to sign up for giving through Scrip. When shopping on Amazon.com, please use the smile.amazon.com link and select Maple Village Waldorf School as your designated cause. It’s as easy as that. Contact Jessica Tan with any questions Jessica.seward.tan@gmail.com.

WE NEED ROOM PARENTS TO PLEASE ATTEND THE PV MEETINGS.

This year we have a volunteer coordinator, Alicia Sovich. Thank you, Alicia for helping us to coordinate our required volunteer time. We will be using a credit system. Each family will be responsible for contributing 20 credits throughout this school year. If you cannot contribute 20 credits worth of your time, you will have the option of contributing money instead. It will 20 dollars per credit. This is to help fund the hiring we will have to do if enough parents do not volunteer.

The Harvest Faire will be Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Please contact the chair, Kari Rahni, at 562-537-7484 to volunteer. We need everybody’s help! Please!

Fundraising - Scrip

What's one of the easiest ways to raise money for Maple Village and the awesome education our kids receive??? You got it! Scrip!

Maple Village participates in several Scrip programs, details for which are on the Giving tab of Maple Village's Website: http://www.maplevillageschool.org/giving/. We will give a little introduction to each Scrip program in the next few bulletins, but to keep the action items short and sweet, we're starting with Shop With Scrip, the program that contributes the most to Maple Village.

If you haven't already, sign up for Shop With Scrip now!
  1. Go to http://bit.ly/sws-JoinYourProgram
  2. Enter 9L53297333484 in the blank space and click "Register"
  3. Follow the prompts to pick a username and safe password, and enter your family information, then click "Register" at the bottom
  4. Please list the student(s) you are associated with in the box provided - this helps us allow extended family to also join our Scrip program.
  5. Once you have registered you will need to go to Presto Pay and register your checking account in Presto Pay in order to place orders for scrip. ShopWithScrip is a secure shopping portal, and they verify your bank is yours by depositing some small random amounts that you will need to verify (a couple of cents each). Once you have verified those amounts, e-mail Jessica Tan at JessysBlessings@gmail.com with your approval code.
  6. Jessica will activate your account, and you are ready to shop!
For more information about the brands available through ShopWithScrip visit https://www.shopwithscrip.com/featured-scrip-retailers or log in to your ShopWithScrip account and click 'shop' for a complete list.

If you have trouble with enrollment, or any other scrip questions please talk to Carver at drop off or pick up or e-mail Jessica at JessysBlessings@gmail.com

Happy Scrip-ing!
